Regarding credit card orders

Credit card companies have cost many booksellers thousands of dollars every year in processing fees. Most disturbingly, some multi-dealer listing sites are acting as middlemen in this scheme, and are in turn adding a percentage onto processing fees. Worse yet, one such scheme on a large popular site does not allow booksellers to process customer orders via credit card. This trend of taking control away from booksellers and charging some blown-up figure on each credit card transaction is making the cost of doing business by credit card prohibitive for many of us. We therefore urge all our readers, wherever possible, to avoid placing your orders through listing services with credit cards, and to contact sellers directly. Another reasonable alternative is to pay through a service called Paypal. Once we receive confirmation from you that your cheque or money order is in the mail, or that you have placed your order with a credit card through Paypal, we will ship your book out to you, and so you will receive your order as quickly as ordering by any other method. In the event of expensive orders, however, personal cheques will be held over for clearance before shipment proceeds.

 

When writing us

Please do not send payment without first confirming availability. You can certainly request confirmation of availability by writing to us "snail-mail", but in that case please include either a telephone number or email address (or both if you have them) in your note, so we can expedite processing and shipment of your order.
